Destiny- Lord Saladin's Helmet

Lord Saladin's helmet was a gift for a Bungie exec going through major surgery, and was my final project crafted using the Pepakura papercraft method. To begin, a very low poly digital model was made by Jacob Morin and unfolded in Pepakura. The basic geometry was printed onto cardstock, cut out, then folded and glued together to get the same low poly base. This was smoothed out using resin and bondo. Once the base had good structure and had no voids or irregularities, details were added in the form of styrene greebles. The prorotype was molded and slush cast to provide a lightweight, durable replica that was finally painted and weathered.
