Of all my projects, Borealis has seen the most mileage. Originally commissioned by Bungie, it was later shipped to Budapest to be used in a Playstation commercial, then displayed at both PSX 2017 and PAX West 2017. The weapon needed to accurately represent the way it switches elements as it does in game. A tremendous amount of wiring was done that allowed strategically placed LED's to change colors at the press of a button. This project married traditional crafting techniques with 3D printing done on both a FDM and SLA printer. It now resides at Playstation's headquarters. Concept by Joe Cross, hard surface by JT White.
