1:1 Gjallarhorn repaint project created for the Bungie employee anniversary program to celebrate an employee's 20 years of tenure. I had the privilege of working with the Bungie consumer products team and Nerf during the production of the Nerf Gjallarhorn replica offered through Bungie Store and knew the fidelity of the Nerf model was up to par with very few compromises in accuracy. Rather than rebuild Gjallarhorn from scratch I decided to do a complete disassembly and repaint of a Nerf model instead. This proved to be an deceptively complicated project due to the various proprietary assembly methods Nerf uses that required reverse engineering. The application of this much SFX gold paint is quite painstaking as well, however the final result was absolutely stunning to behold.
